The Cascades Walkway
This is a walkway that starts in Lloyd Elsmore Park and winds its way through suburbia to finish at Meadowlands Reserve, a distance of 6km to 7km. The pathway is suitable for either walking or cycling and is dog friendly, as long as they are on a leash. It is generally flat and wide, with the majority of it being concrete.
It is a popular place for the locals to exercise, whether it be themselves or their four-legged family members. During the weekends, it will also be busy around the three sporting areas of Lloyd Elsmore Park, Millhouse Reserve and Meadowlands Reserve.
The walkway takes its name from a series of cascading small waterfalls in the Pakuranga Creek. These can be seen at the bottom of the leg that goes along the edge of Lloyd Elsmore Park before turning east towards Meadowlands.
GZ can get very busy at school drop-off and pick-up times as there is a primary school that is opposite a path that leads to or from GZ.
