History
The monument to the fallen Russians was placed in Sfakteria in 1872, on the 45th anniversary of the Battle of Navarino, and was funded by the Russian Navy.
At the center is a marble slab, while around the monument there are cypress trees, which were planted by Russian sailors in 1889, as a tribute to the fallen. The plaque reads: "In memory of those lost in the naval battle of Navarino on October 8, 1827 and buried nearby".
On the side of the monument are a Greek Orthodox church of the Resurrection of the Lord and a Siberian-style wooden church of Agios Nikolaos where services are held in memory of the fallen. In 1960, a column carved with the anchor and the coat of arms of the Soviet Union was installed. On the stele it is written that it was placed "in honor of the Russian sailors who were heroically lost in the naval battle of Navarino".
Access
USE OF BOAT NECESSARY. After the pier there is a path that goes up to the monument and the two temples.
Cache
The cache consists of a can of instant coffee with a pad, pencil and some SWAG.

Ιστορία
Το μνημείο Ρώσων πεσόντων τοποθετήθηκε στην Σφακτηρία το 1872, στην 45η επέτειο της Ναυμαχίας του Ναυαρίνου, και χρηματοδοτήθηκε από το Ρωσικό Πολεμικό Ναυτικό.
Κεντρικά υπάρχει μια μαρμάρινη πλάκα, ενώ γύρω από το μνημείο υπάρχουν κυπαρίσσια, τα οποία φύτεψαν οι Ρώσοι ναύτες το 1889, ως φόρο τιμής προς τους πεσόντες. Στην πλάκα αναγράφεται: "Στην μνήμη των απολεσθέντων στη ναυμαχία του Ναυαρίνου στις 8 Οκτώβρη 1827 και ενταφιασμένων εδώ κοντά".
Πλευρικά του μνημείου βρίσκονται μια Ελληνική Ορθόδοξη εκκλησία της Αναστάσεως του Κυρίου και ένα σιβηρικού τύπου, ξύλινο εκκλησάκι του Αγίου Νικολάου όπου και γίνονται λειτουργίες στη μνήμη των πεσόντων. Το 1960 τοποθετήθηκε στήλη με σκαλισμένη την άγκυρα και το εθνόσημο της Σοβιετικής Ένωσης. Στην στήλη αναγράφεται ότι τοποθετήθηκε "προς τιμή των Ρώσων ναυτών που απωλέστηκαν ηρωικά στη ναυμαχία του Ναυαρίνου".
Πρόσβαση
ΑΝΑΓΚΑΙΑ Η ΧΡΗΣΗ ΣΚΑΦΟΥΣ. Έπειτα από την προβλήτα ακολουθεί ένα μονοπάτι το οποίο ανηφορίζει πρός το μνημείο και τους δύο ναούς.
Κρύπτη
Η κρύπτη αποτελείται από ένα δοχείο στιγμιαίου καφέ με μπλοκάκι, μολύβι και μερικά SWAG.
