This is the 5th of 7 geocaches in a series that is designed to inform people about the history of Weathersfield, Vermont. Each site has some significance to the town. In each cache there is a letter of the alphabet. When you have found all 7 of the caches, arrange the letters that you found to spell a word that has to do with a part of Weathersfield history. This will be a person's name who never actually lived in his namesake. Email the owner of this series and receive a small gift from the historical society for your efforts. This site is at the 1879 elementary school. Up until then the 11 different districts had small schools for students. The Stte board of educaiton was exerting pressure to consolidate the schools including curricula, subjects taught, and books. This school was enlarged a couple of times through the years. It was torn down except for this original school in the 2000's and was replaced with a larger school in Ascutney.
