Located in the Suga district, this Shingon Buddhist temple was built in the Kamakura period (1185-1333), and the Kamakura Kaido Nakamichi Road runs right in front of it. The Niomon gate at the entrance of the temple houses the town's only statue of Niomon, built in the Edo period (1603-1868), quietly and powerfully watching over the town's history. In addition, there is a Yakushido (medicine hall) on the temple grounds, where the legend of the "substitute medicine man" from the Kamakura period been passed down.
