This cache is a part of a series to recognize Lincoln Parks young and old, well known and hidden.
Welcome to Oak Lake Park! This 186.39 acre park was a gift to the City of Lincoln in 1922 to be used for "general park use" thanks to Henry and May Bannister. Every summer the Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department hosts the Uncle Sam Jam at this park the Sunday before the fourth of July. The lake is well stocked with several species of fish and allows non-motorized boats and the shore closest to the parking lot has seasonal ice skating.
This is a two stage multi including the final. Check the Waypoints, they give some optional parking coordinates. If you were to park at either, this multi would be about a mile round trip. Ground Zero acts dually as the Final and a Reference Waypoint, I invite you to look southeast after you make the find. :)
Stage 1: N 40 49.721 W 96 43.056
Welcome to the little island of Oak Lake Park, to aquire the Final coordinates you'll need to know...
A= # of benches on the island
B= # of flag poles on the island
C= # of islands in Oak Lake Park (check your map)
D= # of super tall light poles to the northeast (best seen from posted coordinates)
E= # of Sowers standing on a 400 foot tower (southeast)
These five variables will help you solve for the Final
H= C+D
J= A+B
K= D
M= D-E
P= A+A+B+E
Final: N 40 49.HJK W 96 42.KMP
Wether you find it or not take a look to the southeast :)
Enjoy the park and happy caching!
