In 1991, the Town of Bassendean conceived the plan for the Broadway Arboretum Reserve which was to be a site which was representative of the vegetation of the sandy soil regions of Western Australia. This plan was implemented in 1993 in accordance with the adopted plan including a central wetland and vast plantings of native Western Australian vegetation. The current Broadway Reserve has a wide range of Western Australian native plants that would naturally grow in different soil types and different rain fall areas. The lake here is the last remaining section of the once much larger Nyibra Swamp that once stretched all the way to the Tonkin Highway. The cache you seek is a sistema at the base of a tree next to the lake. Happy hunting
