Congrats to PQCaching for being the FTF!

Today, Golden Hill is a typical metro neighborhood, in walking distance of Balboa Park and downtown. At first glance, it doesn’t seem out of the ordinary, but Golden Hill actually has a very rich history. In the late 19th century and early 20th century, many wealthy San Diegans bought land and built beautiful Victorian Mansions here, making Golden Hill the neighborhood of the elite. Many residents of these homes made gardens, planted trees, and built roads in Balboa Park, which until then had been undeveloped. The Golden Hill Fountain Grotto still stands as the oldest development in Balboa Park. Golden Hill is a lovely neighborhood, and I hope you see the same beauty in it that I do. Thank you for the people at the Greater Golden Hill Community Development Corporation for making this information accessible to me and others.
