Geocache Description:

This cache is our first hide and what better place to put it than the park we love to come and feed the ducks in! Whilst you're here, make sure you take the time to walk round the pond, take in the view and feed the ducks/swans. We may not be advised to feed them bread anymore, but if you wander around the park, there are plenty of signs advising you of foods you can feed them including sweetcorn, lettuce, frozen peas, oats, seeds and even leftover takeaway rice! Duck & Swan food is also available at plenty of high street shops.

Newton Park is a small formal park within the Northfield area of Ayr. Popular and well loved by its local community it has an active and enthusiastic Friends of Newton Park group. There are many features packed into this park; from informal dog walking areas, pond and a petanque court to accessible footpaths, flower beds and a sports area. Newton Park also holds both national and international bowling competitions.

Permission to place the cache was given by South Ayrshire Council. Please take care around the pond, especially with little ones, and remember this is the home for many ducks and swans so treat it with respect! Tweezers will be helpful, stick to the footpaths if you can, and most importantly, Happy caching!
