I have been travelling the Australian Outback with my wife and our 4WD and caravan for over 20 years photographing this wonderful country and as Covid is now behind us decided to again visit Marree South Australia.
Marree is situated at the junction of the Outback Highway from the south , the Birdsville Track to the east and the Oodnadatta Track to the north.
What a great spot to place a cache at this historic town, the Marree Hotel is the Beacon in the town.
This is a really great outback town, loads of History with The Mailman ,Tom Kruse
featuring heavily his old truck and the old Ghan Locos plus the water tank mural are all worthy of time spent here.
NOTE!
This cache is now only available during Hotel opening Hours.
The cache is No Longer at the posted co-ords due to the second disappearance of my cache , this time due to the laying of a new pipeline so, the Owner/Publicans of the Pub have again agreed to keep and maintain the cache and log books in the Pub.
Once you arrive at the posted co-ords walk across Railway Terrace , enter the pub and ask for Marree Pub Geo Box, sign log book room for swaps etc
It was great to see the road has been sealed from Lyndhurst to Marree.
