DE: Ursprünglich gab es unterhalb des Reschenpasses drei hintereinander liegende Seen, den Reschensee, den Mittlersee bzw. Grauner See und den Haidersee.
Schon zu Zeiten der österreichischen Monarchie ( ca. 1911) gab es die ersten Überlegungen, das Gebiet oberhalb des Haidersees zu stauen.
Im Jahre 1923 wurde das Projekt von Italien durch die " Stromgesellschaft Oberetsch" wieder aufgegriffen, 1939 die Vorarbeiten begonnen, und kriegsbedingt 1946 der Bau begonnen, und am 28. August 1949 eingeweiht!
Der ursprüngliche Wasserspiegel wurde durch den Erddamm um 22 Meter erhöht, wobei das Dorf Graun vollständig, Reschen zum Teil überflutet wurde, und es entstand ein einziger See.
Durch den 32 Meter hohen und 467 m langen Damm hat der aufgestaute See eine Nutzkapazität von 116 Millionen m3.
IT:. In origine sotto il passo Resia esistevano tre laghi, in Lago di Resia, lago di Mezzo o di Curon e il lago della Muta.
Già ai tempi della monarchia Austriaca ( circa 1911)si pensava di arginare l' area soprastante il lago della Muta.
Nel 1923 il progetto fu ripreso dall Italia dalla società elettrica Alto Adige e i lavori preparatori iniziarono nel 1939.
A causa della guerra, la costruzione iniziò nel 1946 e la diga fu inaugurata il 28 agosto 1949.
Il livello dell' acqua originale è stato sollevato di 22 metri da una diga di terra e il villaggio di Curon completamente allagato, quello di Resia parzialmente e si formò un unico lago.
Grazie alla diga, alta 32 metri e lunga 467 metri, il lago arginato ora ha una capienza di 116 millione m3.
