WHO: Geocachers and Muggles are all welcome!
WHAT: CITO on International Coastal Cleanup Day! BIG or small, we'll pick up it all!
WHEN: SUNDAY, September 18, 2022, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
WHERE: Similk Beach, Anacortes
WHY: We all know why!
I come here regularly and pick up trash, especially plastics. I've found bottles and lids, boat cushions, shotgun shells, lots of pieces of rope, pens, lighters, food wrappers, marine debris, etc. Sometimes I'll just sit on a log for an hours and pick up the tiny pieces of plastic that may look appealing to critters. It seems that things may get trapped in here by the tides, which always provides an abundace of things that need picking up. The tide will be coming in, but there's still plenty to pick up in the drift wood.

I'll bring trashbags, large and small, and I'll haul all of the trash away. I'll have some hand sanitizer and store bought snacks, too. You should bring some gloves and appropriate foot wear. Dogs must be leashed on this beach.
Lots of parking.
