Maritzburg College was founded in 1863 and it's the oldest boys' high school in KwaZulu-Natal – and one of the oldest schools in South Africa. It is attended by 1 340 students, of whom approximately 480 are boarders. College has a number of fields in the school as well as fields outside the school. Although these fields belong to the school you will regularly see other people going for walks on these bottom fields in the evenings.
