In 2004, 20-year-old Ashley Howley disappeared from the city of Columbus, Ohio. While the case went cold, Ashley, or rather, her spirit, was diligently trying to communicate with Psychic Kristy Robinett, a Michigan spiritual medium. Ashley’s spirit, which according to Robinett, needed time to figure out how to get her message across, eventually told Robinett she’d been murdered by her boyfriend and where her body could be found.
Howley, police would learn years after her death, was murdered by her ex boyfriend, Robert P. MacMichael II, who also killed his mother and her current boyfriend.
Howley visited Robinett fairly regularly throughout the next few years and presented images of "light-colored" pines where her body was.
Robinett took a trip to Columbus with a relative of Howley's. They were stopped by a park ranger where they were looking. No light-colored pines were in the area, but he knew where some were. They found the right spot, Robinett could feel it, but authorities wouldn't dig because it was on private property.
It was about two more years, when MacMichael was arrested for the other murders and offered a plea deal, that he revealed the location of Howley's remains, right where Robinett had shown officials years earlier.
In 2008, Howley's body was found in the very spot she told Robinett it would be marked by a stick and her ex boyfriend was brought to justice.
