This cache is in the Silver Springs Forest Conservation Area. The area offers hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, fishing, wildlife viewing, nature study and now, GEOCACHING. Most importantly it provides a buffer where forests capture rainwater to recharge the aquifer and augment the flow of Silver Springs. You will find miles of hiking trails here, but no motorized vehicles are allowed. The cache is located near the County Road 326 entrance (6381 E. Highway 326, Silver Springs, FL). Parking is available.
This cache is very small [tweezers may be needed to extract the log] but it should be easy to find with the hint. The cache was hidden with the permission of the St. Johns River Water Management District. Remember to watch for things that might bite, sting, scratch, cut, poke or trip you.
