This trail is challenging and beautiful, I've always liked this area. I was recently chatting with another geocacher who said he was planning to extend the trail some. So, I decided to do my part as well.
I recall there was once a tree-climbing cache nearby that was archived due to constant muggling. Frustrating.
So I got to thinking...how best to put another tree-climbing cache in the same area and not have to worry about muggling...hmm...
Then it hit me! Make it a bit harder
This tree climb is no joke! Seriously! I used some special equipment when I placed it, and I almost never do that...even on pretty gnarly trees.
The hike in to this area is also no joke. Be careful! The hike and the cache are both dangerous. Bring a friend for safety. Don't attempt this by yourself! It's just a cache...don't take any unnecessary risks!
At NO time when I was placing this cache did I feel the least bit scared or in any danger. If you do at any time, you should probably stop. Know your abilities. There's no shame in passing on this one. This one is for the connoisseurs of this type of thing.
The cache can be clearly seen and identified from the ground...don't start climbing until you spot it.
Please don't attempt this cache unless you accept there is a good chance you will not be able to retrieve it. It's very difficult. I've unfortunately been the recipient of quite a bit of silly, angry, and just plain childish remarks regarding the difficulty of some of my other caches. It's intended to be hard. Also, please don't attempt to detach the tether from the tree.
Your name must be on the log to claim this cache! Be sure to bring something to sign the log. Interesting pics of you up in the tree are encouraged!
