EDITED 10/3/23: This is the counterpart to "Top of the point" (GCQBEA). I debated about several names, including "Bottom of the Point" and "Stahlman's Bottom," but decided "Stahlman Point Trail Starts Here" says it all because the original placement was where the parking and the trailhead and this cache all coincide. However, the original placement at the trailhead disappeared twice and when I checked on it this time the sign had graffitti on it, so GZ has been moved up the trail about 350' - give or take. Because of the new placement I have added the "Seasonal" attribute, depending on snowfall, this may not be accessible 12 months out of the year. The GPS will be a little jumpy under the tree canopy, but I am still going to tell you exactly where it is and there are spoiler pictures to help make the find. First, take Blowout Road off of Hwy 22 and go about 3.5 miles to the small parking lot / trailhead. Head up the trail. When you get to where the trail levels out (mostly) just before going past a tall "stump" on your right, look left for a splintered snag about 5' tall. The camo'd tubelike container is in the snag and covered with a piece of bark. Spoiler pictures attached. It's beautiful here, enjoy!
Congratulations to HRExplorer for First to Find!
