Geocache Description:

The North Fork Issaquah Creek is a tributary of the Issaquah Creek that starts at a fork in the stream one mile southeast of Lake Sammamish and continues all the way to nearby Yellow Lake. Most of the North Fork action happens in downtown Issaquah. Fancy renovations to a culvert in 2017 rerouted a section of the stream and opened a mile’s worth of new salmon habitat.

Up here, however, not much happens. This part can completely dry up in the hotter seasons, as it has at the time of writing. I don’t know how important this part of the creek is to the salmon, but I’ve personally never seen any around here. In general, the top half of the North Fork Issaquah Creek gets a lot less attention than its downhill counterpart.

This cache is located very close to the stream just off a small looping trail. You can watch the water (if there is any) flow under the bridge that is covered top to bottom in graffiti. If you stand there, you can hear the thumping of the cars passing overhead. Quite a relaxing spot! The container itself is a small cylindrical tin wrapped in duct tape with room for a few trinkets inside, placed on the edge of the woods.

(NOTE: There’s newly planted trees and irrigation lines in the area. Please be courteous.)

Congrats to FotoMoto for the quick FTF!
