Geocache Description:

Gillies Grove is a great place for a forest walk any time of the year! if you come in the spring stop and admire the beautiful flowers and keep and eye out for the local wildlife! If you have sharp eyes you may even see a red backed salamander crawling through rotting logs and on the forest floor! Gillies Grove is a virgin pine forest which means none of the trees have ever been cut down! It is home to Ontario's tallest tree! Measuring 47 metres (147 feet) high and more than 100 centimetres in breadth, this magnificent giant stands taller than a 13-story building. It's estimated to be around 150-200 years old!
