This cache is near Galveston's newest and biggest fire station. Central Station, as it is known was finished in 2019 and replaced the old station which had served as the downtown station since 1964. The station is designed in a manner similar to the nearby Moody Mansion and other historical buildings in the downtown area. The Galveston Fire Department traces its origins back to 1842 and became the first fully paid fire department in the state of Texas in 1885. Manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, this station houses one of Galveston's busiest engine companies as well as a ladder company and a battalion chief. Parking is available on the streets only. Beware of emergency apparatus coming and going at all hours. Container is hanging with a little room for some swag. Log is inside a bison tube inside the outer container. Bring a tool to retrieve it. Please replace everything as you found it. BYOP. Enjoy!
Congrats to sunbitten! FTF!
