Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near the train chapel in Åndalsnes (not on or under the train itself).

The train chapel is centrally located by the railway station at Åndalsnes in Rauma municipality . It is an older railway carriage of type NSB B3 , the interior of which has been specially designed as a church chapel and meeting place.
The train chapel at Åndalsnes is the first in Norway and supposedly the only one in the world. The railway carriage is divided into two parts with an informal meeting room and a church chapel. It is open all year round. The chapel room has 25 seats, a total of 55 seats. The train chapel can have simple ceremonies, such as weddings .

The train chapel was consecrated on 10 June 2003 , by Bishop Odd Bondevik with King Harald and Queen Sonja as guests of honour. The Togkapellet is owned by an inter-denominational foundation, consisting of The Norwegian Church , the Salvation Army and Pentecostal congregation Kilden .
