On the corner of Victoria and Exchange Street, you will find the Harlan Depot. The Harlan Depot was
built by the Chicago Great Western Railroad in 1903. The old tracks are gone now, but the depot is still
in great shape. Today, this old wooden building is used as a steakhouse restaurant, named after the
street it is located on. The two additions on the sides of the building were added after it was sold by the
railroad. There are entrances on both sides of the building if you wish to explore the inside.
This cache is an off scale model of the depot with a twist to access the container. You will need to switch
the tracks for the door to open. The container is big enough for small trackable items and swag. Have
fun and replace everything as you found it. You will have to make sure the track switcher is back to
green for the door to close.
For handicap access, the ground is fine gravel and grass. The cache is easily reachable about eye level
when seated.
This geocache was built and gifted to us by legendary St. Louis area geochacher L Frank.
