Little Bridges #2587 - Crabb Lane, Exeter Traditional Cache

Crabb Lane runs from Cowick Lane at one end, through the slightly valley formed around the Alphin Brook, and under the A30 before joining the C50 road along the section now named Ide Village Road. It is still officially a public highway, but for the most part its not really passable in a vehicle other than perhaps a tractor or quad bike. 

This cache is set close to the footbridge and vehicle fording point crossing the Alphin Brook. It's quite a popular spot for dog walkers and also for children paddling. The area is known locally as Clark's Pond and was apparently a popular fishing spot in years gone by,

You will need to cross the water to get to the cache - I've graded this as a T3 as an average value. Tree cover made getting accurate coordinates tricky but what I got look right on the map. Sometimes you practically step across the Brook here, but after prolonged heavy rains, this is a significant river and I certainly wouldn't recommend trying for this one at such times.

Please use common sense when deciding whether to attempt this cache.
