Geocache Description:

How's it all going? Do we need a recap? Okay, because I'm a terrible writer and probably desperately need an editor, here we go. Dave and Jerry are in a hospital, and their story is in the past - about 15 years or so ago. Kim is Jerry's daughter, and her story takes part in the present. Deb and Harry are the mysterious figures. They could be evil, or they might just be people with jobs working for a sketchy outfit - we've ALL had one of those! Anyway, onto the story!

BTW, this one is a Trad. You don't need to read anything on this page - you're welcome to just go and get it.

Chapter Four - Sinister Stirrings

Harry never thought much of anything. He knew how to get dressed in the morning, brush his teeth and comb his hair. What else would he need to know?

Today, Harry had a job to do, and he preferred ones like this that didn't require a lot of thinking. Do what you're told, and that's it. No need to think or ask a question. Go here, collect that cart, and push it into a room. Simple.

A man was on the cart, and Harry couldn't tell if he was alive or dead. Harry didn't care which it was. His job was to deliver the cart. The fate of the occupant was irrelevant.

As Harry pushed the cart, one of the wheels jerked about, which meant that every six steps, the cart would bang into the wall. Harry tried to compensate, but nothing he did made it better. After a few metres and several loud crashes, the man started to stir. Harry thought he'd better stop and try to fix the problem with the wheel. Harry wasn't exactly clever, and his wheel-fixing method involved several swift kicks. The wheel responded to this abuse by promptly leaving the cart and scurrying off down the hallway, spitting out ball bearings as it went.

The now three-wheeled cart rocked and lent to the side, rendering it immovable. Harry tried to lift and push the cart, but it was useless. Harry was conflicted and struggled to think about what to do next. Eventually, he decided he'd need a new cart and found one in a nearby room. He pushed the carts together and rolled the unconscious man over onto it. Happy with his handiwork, Harry continued down the hallway and through the double doors marked with a strange yellow and black sign.

The doors opened to a room, and three robed and masked doctors were waiting near a brightly lit table.

'Why is he like that?' One of the three identical-looking doctors asked.

Harry shrugged. Keeping silent is usually a good tactic.

'Did you disturb the body?'

Harry shrugged again.

'Are you an idiot?'

Harry knew he could easily pick up this doctor and toss him across the room, but he just shrugged. He may not be the most intelligent person in the world, but he knows how to avoid conflict and useless discussions.

'Well, can you help us turn him over?'

Harry shrugged again. No need the shatter their opinions.

The doctor breathed out heavily and then called over his colleagues. Harry took some small pleasure in watching them struggle with the body. What took Harry a few seconds took the doctors a few minutes, and he could swear that some were breaking a sweat. He smiled internally and tried not to show any joy.

'Thanks for your help,' the doctor said. 'Can you at least get this cart out of here now?'

Harry grabbed the cart and pulled it out of the room. He wheeled it back down the hall and left it in the room where he found it. As he turned to leave, he noticed a small metallic object lying on the cart. He grabbed it and turned it over in his hand. Then he shrugged and tossed it out an open window. It was probably unimportant.
