The 30-minute World Wide Flash Mob Caching Event
The World Wide Flash Mob Event: Hundreds of events all around the world, coordinated to happen at the same time to bring together geocachers and introduce others (newbies) to geocaching. The event will last EXACTLY 30 minutes, not 29. not 31. It will begin precisely at 11:00 on Saturday September 24th, 2022 and end at 11:30. The event will be held at Confederation Park beside Mosaic Stadium. This is in an open public space. This venue was chosen due to the amount of parking available on site, and to be in sync with other WWFM XIX events being held at Confederation Parks around the world.
11:00 Exactly: Geocachers will open their umbrelas and converge at the posted coordinates seeming to come out of "nowhere". Before this time, please mill around the park/stadium area and act like a muggle a distance from GZ. Participants may sign the log book if they wish.
11:05: Commence geo chatter.
11:15: We will take a group photo.
11:20-11:29: Continue with the geo chatter.
11:30: We will close our umbrelas and disapear into our surroundings as if we were never there...........
The WWFM idea was started in 2007 after 2 cachers attended a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
