Il ponte sul rio Regnana, costruito nel Settecento o dopo, era un tempo l'unica via di accesso al paese di Piazzo; la strada arrivava (come oggi) da Parlo a sud-est, mentre il passaggio alla sponda opposta dell'Avisio poteva avvenire solo al ponte di Cantilaga, più a monte lungo l'Avisio: negli anni settanta è il vecchio ponte è stato affiancato da quello nuovo della SP101, costruita appunto in quel periodo.
Sotto al ponte scorre il rio Regnana, un piccolo torrente che nasce nei pressi del paese di Regnana (frazione di Bedollo, verso il passo del Redebus) e sfocia nell'Avisio appena dopo il ponte dell'Amicizia: se aguzzate la vista verso ovest potete vedere la foce! Il rio, al giorno d'oggi di portata ridotta, era un tempo molto più tumultuoso e nel settembre 1882, gonfiato dalle piogge torrenziali, asportò diversi opifici e fece franare anche alcune case e parte del palazzo dei baroni di Piazzo.
L'edificio sottostante il ponte è un'ex segheria alla veneziana, dove di recente è stato ricavato uno spazio per mostre ed esposizioni; presso il ponte (dove la strada sale verso Piazzo) si trova anche un capitello votivo con un imponente crocifisso ligneo: costruito nell'Ottocento per volontà della baronessa madre Salesia a Prato, dovette essere demolito per far passare la nuova strada provinciale, e venne poi ricostruito in cemento amato.

The bridge on the Regnana stream, built during the 18th century or later, was once the only way of access to the village of Piazzo; the road came (as it does today) from south-west, from the village of Parlo, and to cross on the other side of the Avisio river you had to go to the Cantilaga bridge, further upstream: in the seventies the old bridge was flanked by the modern road bridge of the new provincial road (SP101, the road itself built in those years).
Below the bridge flows the Regnana, a small stream that originates near the village of Regnana (municipality of Bedollo, on the road to the Redebus pass) and flows into the Avisio river just after the "Friendship bridge": you should be able to see both the mouth and the Friendship bridge if you look west! The stream nowadays is small but it was once much more agitated; in September 1882, swollen up by days of rain, it destroyed several mills and even caused a landslide that collapsed some houses, and part of the baronal palace, in Piazzo.
The building under the bridge was once a water-powered sawmill; recently it was repurposed as an exhibition space. Near the bridge there is also a small shrine with a huge wooden crucifix; it was built in the 19th century, by will of baroness mother Salesia a Prato, but had to be demolished to make space for the new provincial road; it was later rebuilt, in a slightly different place, using reinforced concrete.
