The Hustler
In the 1986 movie 'The Color of Money' Paul Newman's aging character attempts a comeback as a pool shark, someone who plays people at pool for money. In one scene he plays the break - the first shot in a game - when the balls are racked up in a triangle formation, and attempts to pot a particular ball from it . This is a very difficult shot I have attempted at pool many times, but never managed.
Can you help me finally pull off this tricky shot? Look at the picture below as I tee up my cue at the white ball. I'll need to figure out the various angles as one ball collides with another within the regular shape of the triangle, in order to pot the ball I'm going for, the one in the bottom right hand corner. I've figured out one of the angles but need help with the rest.
If you can figure out all the angles I'll give you a reward - a find!
N 56° 03.ABC W 003° 44.DEF
A = second digit
B = first digit x 0.5
C = first digit +3
D = second digit
E = first two digits added, + 2
F = second digit X 3
Relative to the point each ball has been hit, what is the angle of each ball moves in. No angle is bigger than 180 degrees, and all are divisible by 10.
