Geocache Description:


The Freedom of Flight Museum, is a dedicated group of flight enthusiasts focused on stimulating and fostering an interest in aviation and space flight in the Joplin and surrounding four state area. The Museum's mission is to acquire, restore, preserve, and display aircraft and spacecraft related artifacts. Through these activities, the museum serves the public interest by providing educational opportunities and programs specifically focused on the history, technology, math, science, and human aspects of flight. 

The Museum is a volunteer run museum. The Museum hours are typically open from 2 PM to 5 PM on Thursday and Saturday. However, the museum is often open during special events. Admission to the Museum is always free to the public.

There are TWO ways to get the answer at the first stage of the Multi-Cache. If the museum is open, you will need to visit the ground floor of the museum in order to find the first stage of this mult-cache. Alternately, you can answer a second question by just observing the exterior of the buildng. You will be able to easily collect the final stage after you depart the museum.

Boeing B-52 Stratofortress

 

Inside the museum, locate the Vietnam History section. 

Staff Sergeant David Sexton is a Joplin native. SSgt Sexton served in the United States Air Force from October 1968 to September 1972. His time served in Okinawa and Thailand were spent working with the B-52 Stratofortress. 

To obtain the coordinates for the final state of the Multi-Cache, answer the following question, using the Certitide Checker. Thare is an Inside Question or an Outside Question, both with the same answer. 

 

Inside Question - In the display booth for SSgt Sexton, There is a plaque listing his dates of service and the Air Force Bases he was stationed at. How many points are on the star with the red circle in the center?

Outside Question - At the front of the building, above the main entrance doors, how many windows are on the second level? 

Same Answer for Both Questions - Enter it into the Certitide Checker.
