Geocache Description:

Located in Karavomylos village, Zervati Cave is a cavern in which 2 lakes meet and is part of the wider karstic (natural underground drainage) network of the Sami area. As well as its geological importance the cave has ecological interest as the lakes house rare aquatic plants, fish and eels. Also, when the excavation was carried out pottery from the Geometric to the Hellenic times was found.

More detail on the Geo and Biodiversity can be seen on the notice board at GZ - also photographed here.

The cache itself is very easy to find however visiting the cave is a bit more of a challenge. We have not ventured down as we're a bit long in the tooth but it IS accessible with care and we'd love to see some photos from down there. Our job was to bring you to the spot .. the rest is up to you :-)

There is a  taverna nearby with the same name, but it's to be noted that it doesn't open unti 6pm. There are a couple of other places in the village open all day.

You are looking for a magnetised film canister.

Cache will be maintained by friends on the island in between our visits.
