What is Christianity?
Christianity is a belief system based on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, who lived around 2,000 years ago. Christians believe there is one God who created everything. They believe this God exists as three parts: the Father (God), the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. This is known as the Trinity.
According to Christianity, Jesus is God’s Son who came to Earth as a human. He taught about love, forgiveness, and living in a way that honours God and others. Christians believe Jesus lived without sin, was crucified, and rose from the dead three days later. This event is seen as central to the faith.
Christians believe that through Jesus, people can be forgiven and reconnected with God. The Bible is the main text used by Christians, and it includes historical accounts, teachings, and spiritual guidance.
Christianity is practiced in many different ways around the world, but most Christians meet regularly (often at churches) to pray, learn, and be part of a community.
