Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, has died at Balmoral aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
"The queen has died 'peacefully' with her beloved family at her bedside."
Upon hearing the sad news about the Queen's death, I thought it only right to place a cache commemorating her.
Her Majesty is no stranger to Hobart, having visited on multiple occasions during her reign.
I've added some pictures of Queen Elizabeth when she toured Hobart and visited the Cenotaph, Salamanca and the Huon Valley.
I wanted to place the cache in Salamanca as this is where most Hobartian's remember seeing or hearing about the queen's visit.
