The cache is located along Pullman Road and there is plenty of room to pull off of the road onto the grass shoulder as long as there have been no recent heavy rain. The container can hold a few small items. As always, be aware of West Texas critters.
At this location you will be able to observe the black tailed prairie dog. Prairie dogs live in grasslands throughout the Great Plains. Their population health impacts numerous other species, so they are one of the keystone species of the West. Prairie dogs are very social and live in large colonies in underground burrows. These tunnels house many colonies or towns of prairie dogs. The mound of earth at the entrance of burrows helps to keep the burrows from flooding. Multiple entrances allow for an escape route in the event a predator gets into the burrow. Not only do prairie dogs live together, but they also share the responsibilities to look out for predators. While other prairie dogs are foraging for plants, a few prairie dogs will become look outs and watch for hawks, coyotes, or badgers. You will here them barking at you.

The prairie dog is the mascot of the Amarillo professional basebal them, the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
