This is the Frederick Douglass Geocache Trail Kickoff. It has sites of historical relevence to Frederick Douglass' life and connection to Talbot County. There are 6 total sites, one being a multi cache, all across the town of Easton MD. This was created as a Girl Scout Gold Service Project by Autumn Redman to teach people about the history and importance of Frederick Douglass.
The event will be located at the Talbot County Free Library (N 38° 46.481 W 076° 04.668) on September 24th, on Frederick Douglass Day and will start at 12:00 pm EST.
Come to the event location to pick up a passport book that is needed for completion. You will take it to all of the stops on the trail and fill it with ink stamps from geocache boxes located at each spot. After completing the passport book, please return to the library to pick up your commerative Frederick Douglass Geocache challenge coin! The event closes at 4:00 pm EST but the caches will be open and available for the public to complete in the future, anytime. If you cannot make it to this event, you can pickup a passport book, starting September 25th from the Talbot County Visitors Center which will start holding the coins on the 25th as well.
