Geocache Description:

Mickey was the King!!  We all pretended we were him.  Every time we batted an old worn out baseball in the backyard, we imagined we were hitting Homeruns in Yankee Stadium.  Whether we saw a game on TV … listened on the radio … or read about it in the newspaper … every fly ball hit by Mickey was “almost” a HR … every ground out was just a foot from sneaking through for a hit … and every strike out was due to the blind umpires who had no business calling a baseball game.  Yep!!  Mickey was the King!!

I had two friends who were quite good at playing the game.  One was a catcher and one played third base.  As we got older, they made some legitimate plans to try to play ball professionally.  I kept the score book for their games in high school.  I loved to “score” the games and to keep up with all of the action.  I realized that a game scored correctly could be interpreted almost perfectly after the fact and I could tell you everything that my friends had accomplished in the game, both at bat and in the field.

Both friends were drafted out of high school and they wound up spending about 7 years playing some version of professional baseball.  Brent began his career up north playing for the minor league affiliates of a National League team before he finally made it to the big leagues.  He was the catcher.   Ethan, the third baseman, spent his early years playing for an American League team and their minor league affiliates out West.

During their 7 year professional careers, here are the places where they played:

Brent (catcher) – National League

  • Scranton Railriders
  • Ocala Yearlings
  • Odessa Oilers
  • Ogden Raptors
  • Injured – did not play
  • Chicago Cubs
  • San Diego Padres

Ethan (third baseman) – American League

  • Oklahoma City Dodgers
  • Frisco Roughriders
  • Laredo Lemurs
  • Long Beach Breakers
  • Long Beach Breakers
  • Toledo Mud Hens
  • Baltimore Orioles

When I reviewed all of these places that Brent and Ethan played, I realized that there is a set of coordinates pointing directly to a spot in Georgia!!  So of course, we hid a cache there.

Figure out the mystery coordinates and head out to search for a cache.  Don’t go to the posted coordinates.  There is nothing there.  Just solve the puzzle and head out for the smiley.  The rating is for the puzzle mostly, but maybe just a bit for the cache also.  Bring a writing instrument.  And please, please, please put everything back just as you found it.   Good Luck!!  Happy Hunting!!

You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
