MiGO's 2023 Winter Social Snowshoe event on Friday at 6pm. I will figure out how to supply hot chocolate at the trail head(ideas welcomed, please). I will supply some treats as well.
There is a night cache to search for when this event is over. The night cache is winter friendly. There are other caches with large containers, also in this park and the loop will take you about an hour to complete if you choose to find them. Not all are winter friendly, so a shovel to uncover may be needed. I always carry a small camping shovel for winter caching.
If you do not want to snowshoe come to the event anyway. Everyone is welcome.
I have a couple extra sets of snow shoes if you want to try it out. If anyone else has extra snowshoes please bring them for those who may want to try snowshoeing and are not sure if they want to spend the money.
Manistee's Non-motorized Trail Park on M-55 in Parkdale, MI. The trail is open to snow shoes and cross country skiis in the winter. Be respectful of the crosscountry ski trail with your snowshoes.
