My advices to maximize your success rate
1. When you are in a zone, before switching off your screen, get out of the zone first as they are actions done when you go in and when you go out.
2. Save your game as often as possible.
3. Take several devices with you.
4. There is a function working on my old unit, not working on my S10 : the GPS is not running when my screen is off. Not critical. The WhereYouGo App is not supported by Groundspeak any more. Old systems may be more stable/compatible.
5. In your WhereYouGo settings, ensure that "Run app even if screen is off" is activated.

We have lived here since 2013, and we stayed as it is a rather quiet and green place, and the public transportation service is good.
