Today marks the 10 time Scouts ACT is running The C.U.R.E. - The Canberra Urban Rogaining Event.
Each year scouts explore another part of Canberra, collecting points by visiting waypoints in the surrounding suburbs and today the base is Mt Taylor Scout Hall in Pearce.
Patrols are made up of 4 to 8 scouts and during the day they have to work as a team, deciding on their route, how they want to compose the picture at the waypoint that shows that they have visited, where to have lunch etc.
If they were to visit all 42 waypoints they would have covered over 20 km. Unlike orienteering they don't have to visit all waypoints and they do not have to visit them in a certain order.
The cache is located at waypoint 17.
