I have placed this cache for the sole purpose of bringing people to this wonderful memorial. When I was living full time in the area my wife and I would come here once or twice a week to eat our lunch. In that whole time, we never saw anyone come and look or reflect here. Once and a while you would see someone park nearby to eat their lunch or make a phone call, but never get out of their vehicles. People drive through town or get on or off the Pike and see the huge flag and think isn’t that nice but have no idea of the memorial at its base. It was made possible by the efforts and monies from many different organizations, businesses, and individuals. It honors and memorializes the veterans from Somerset County who served, some paying with their lives, to protect the freedom we enjoy today. It also is a memorial for the crew and passengers on flight 93 that lost their lives in a field a few miles away.
