Our first visit to Manta and Ecuador. We will only be in Manta for one day and look forward to meeting any cachers who live in the area or are also visiting Ecuador. This will be a gathering to share geocaching stories and exchange trackables. We'll be meeting at the Fuento de Atun, which is also known as The Tuna Fountain for a short flash mob style event.
The city of Manta has one of the strongest economies in Ecuador. The main industries are fishing, tuna canning, and processing. Processed tuna is exported to Europe and the United States.
