*** The Series ***
This is a small series of caches forming a circular walk from Petersfield Penns Place, out to the site of Durford Abbey and back, the route also takes in a few other incidental caches including some from my "Missing Middy" series.
Durford Abbey was founded in 1161, and closed down by Henry VIII in 1536. The buildings having almost completely disappeared with just a few fragments remaining in the current Durford Abbey Farm, so while you'll be walking through what was part of the Abbey grounds you won't be able to see anything of interest
.
The route is farily flat, and parts of it can get muddy in wet weather so decent boots are recommended. I've used a variety of containers and hides so some will be easier to find than others.
*** The Cache ***
This is a very peaceful spot where the path crosses the River Rother, with just the occasional walker giving their dog a swim.
Depending on your stature you migh have to climb a bit for this one, please only do that if it's safe to do so and you are confident in your ability.
