Geocache Description:

25 February 2023, 15:30 - 17:30

Geocaching NSW would like to extend an invitation to all geocachers to travel to the Jindabyne area in the beautiful Snowy Mountains Region of NSW for our 2023 Kosciuszko Expedition during the weekend of the 24th/25th/26th February.

Jindabyne is around a five to six hour drive from Sydney and a bit over two hours from Canberra. Why not come along and make a long weekend of it.

There are lots of fabulous geocaches to be found in this region so why not team up with a few friends and enjoy a fantastic weekend of geocaching fun. Of particular interest are the caches at the top of our highest mountain, Mt Kosciuszko. A group of geocachers is planning an assault on the Sunday after the breakfast event. If you're up for the adventure, join in. More details to come.

On the Ssaturday afternoon, we will meet at Banjo Paterson Park for an informal meet'n'greet event.

Event details are as follows:

Date: Saturday, 25th February, 2023

Venue: Banjo Paterson Park - Bay St, Jindabyne

Time: 3:30pm to 5:30pm

How to Find Us: Just look for our portable pergola and our Geocaching NSW banner.

Cost: There is no cost to participate.

What to bring: Please BYO all personal food and drink requirements. Folding chairs and/or a picnic rug is always a good idea.

Toilets: Available onsite.

Group Photograph: The official Expedition Event Group Photograph will be taken at some point during the event so hope you can be there for that.

Sir Paul Strzelecki - Banjo Paterson Park, Jundabyne

Polish explorer, geologist, humanitarian, environmentalist, nobleman, scientist, businessman and philanthropist.

Climbed and named Mt Kosciuszko.

There is plenty of accommodation around the Jindabyne region. An internet search will come up with a number of options for you to choose from.

Events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software and share stories about the latest caching adventure. You may even pick up a hint or two on those annoying DNFs.

Please post a “Will Attend” log and add this event to your watchlist so that you will receive any announcements that are made. If you have any questions, please contact us at contact@geocachingnsw.asn.au
