PHX 75 Traditional Cache
allynmoore: I walked in to the cache (the road was still closed). As I expected, the cache was full of water for the second or third time, so I have decided to archive it.
This is still a great spot to visit; maybe I will find a better (drier) spot and set a new cache one of these days.
Thanks to all who visited the site.

Very good roads, great family picnic spot.
The roads to the cache site are closed for the season, and besides, the area is probably very muddy. I may reactivate the cache later. Maybe.
This cache is in Dickenson Flat, a small, 10-acre meadow I saw when returning from Sonora Rat's Milk Ranch Point cache. I couldn't resist, and you may understand why after you visit the meadow. The road in, Milk Ranch Point road (218), is a good gravel road; a family car will do just fine. It is also a great picinc spot, great for kids and dogs.
This cache combines very easy terrain and a moderate search effort with a timed event. In other words, record the time it takes you to go from your car to the cache. Simple, right?
The coordinates are for the parking area. The meadow is visible about a hundred feet west of the parking spot. It is surrounded by a low rail fence and, except for getting from your car to the fenced area,(Hint No. 1) everything is inside the fence.
1. Park, and walk into the meadow.
2. Find a sign that reads PHX => 75, (=> is an arrow) and start from the center of the X. (That's Hint No. 2)
3. Go in the direction of the => to a Marker. Don't worry, you will recognize it when you see it. Be sure to read the heading you take toward the Marker.
4. At the Marker, turn 162 degrees around to the right to a new bearing, and proceed to the next marker (different, but also very recognizable). Note the heading you take. For a check, this leg is about 650 feet long (that's a free hint).
5. Again, at this second marker, turn around to the right 153 degrees from the previous heading, and go to two trees growing VERY close together. One has a painted number 7 on it.
6. For the final leg, turn from the last heading to the right 77 degrees. The cache lies along this line. Remember, it is inside the fenced meadow area.
Find the cache? Great!
One final hint: this search will be almost impossible if there is snow cover on the ground, because PHX => 75 will be pretty hard to see.
Oh, yes, I've added a picture (sketch) showing how to turn the angles. I am probably making this too easy, but have fun!
