Get ready for a fright. This cache series is not for the faint of heart. This spooky season explores some of the Colorado Springs area's most haunted locations with the Haunted Cache series.
The Briarhurst Manor Estate was built in 1889 by Dr. William A. Bell, the founder of Manitou Springs, to replace his first house that burnt to the ground two years prior. Today, it is a beautiful space for weddings and other events including nightly dinners. It is also one of the most haunted buildings in Manitou Springs, a town well acquainted with the paranormal.
Guests and employees alike have reported repeated experiences of hearing unexplainable chimes, music, and laughter. Temperature changes and being touched, bumped, or nudged when no living person is nearby are also common. Objects have been known to move on their own such as spinning silverware on the tables and a vase levitating then smashing to the floor on its own. The master bedroom is one of the most paranormally active rooms with small footprints appearing and leading out of the room and down the hallway. A young boy has also been seen on the grand stairs chasing a ball, only to disappear at the bottom. The Briarhurst Manor has been investigated by Ghost Hunters on the Syfy Channel's Great American Ghost Hunt. During Ghost Hunter's final analysis, the team found audio recordings of paranormal activity in nearly each of the rooms they investigated. This coupled with the chilling experiences they had while at the property confirms that Briarhurst Manor is indeed haunted.
