Second in a series of three for the BVD caches. This cache is hidden near a large erosion dike which was built over sixty years ago to prevent disasterous floods which ravaged Centerville in the 1920's and 1930's. The block "V" (symbolizing the Viewmont Vikings) is a little southeast of the cache. When you log in, tell us where you went to High School, College, or another school you are fond of. Viewmont is across town from Bountiful High and the two schools are arch-rivals!
To access the dike, drive up 100 South in Centerville. When you reach the top of the road, bear left up the dirt road. This is the mouth of Centerville Canyon. There are several other caches in this vicinity. Most cars will be able to handle this road, but if you have a truck or an SUV, you will have no trouble. Snowy conditions are another story, however. After reaching a fork a short way up, turn right by the sign and head south uphill and beyond a chain link fence. Past the fence, stay to the left where the road will switchback north. Follow the road to the dike, which locals call "the bowl". This is a popular area for dirt bikers and ATV's. The cache is east of the dike. Just follow your GPS. The posted coords are updated since the original cache was stolen.
Have fun and we'll cache-u-later!
