The Drake Landing dog park is on the former site of the Texas Gulf Sulphur Plant which was shut down in 1991. When it opened in 1959, the population of Okotoks was 764 and the plant employed 45 people. It was not unusual to see a bright yellow, three-story high, block-long, block-wide pile of sulphur (roughly where the Dawg's Stadium is) waiting to be loaded into railway cars.
This is the first of series of caches placed on the old site in memory of the original plant. Note that this hide is NOT in the dog park, but can be found in the shade nearby.
