Cache #159
The Federation Council is a local government area located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. This area was formed in 2016 from the merger of the Corowa Shire with its neighbouring Urana Shire. These caches are some random additions to encourage more visitors to this part of the world.
Oaklands is a small town in the former Urana Shire. I can't find much history on the cemetery but it may have been established in 1927 (though there appear to be older graves present). Interestingly, I was looking in one of the Oaklands Diuris sites on the other side of town and came across a number of older graves (one photo in the gallery) which indicates there may have been an older cemetery (or were previously two in town).
Have a wander around, but the cache is not located in the grounds. Snakes might be an issue here in summer.
