Hidden Valley's Treasure was created by the campers and staff of Hidden Valley 4-H Camp. The treasure can be found along the Finger Lakes Trail above the Oak Cabin. As you walk along the beautiful Finger Lakes trail you'll witness the breathtaking beauty of Watkins Glen State Park.
The cache is an old ammunition can, formerly another geocache found by the camp for years. This past summer on a hike campers stumbled across the can at the bottom of Riley's Glen. The cache was no longer on the map, and they can abandon it at the bottom of the hill, so the campers took in the cache to give it another life.
To find the treasure, you can park at the Punchbowl parking area, and join the Finger Lakes Trail at the Riley's road entrance. During July and early August Hidden Valley 4-H Camp is private children's camp within the state park. You can freely walk along the Finger Lakes trail and hunt for the cache. But please don't enter the camp or park at Hidden Valley 4-H Camp. There may be private events that rent the camp throughout the rest of the year, so please respect other restrictions too.
