COME ONE, COME ALL!
After an unintended year off, the Last Cone Of The Season event returns! The only reason it didn't happen last year was because Norm's announced their last day of operation too late to get an event approved, though not for lack of trying.
Today is the last chance for a frozen treat from Norm's for the season on their last day of operation for the season before the snow flies. It's time to gather one last time here in Fruitport and enjoy some delicious items and a good time with fellow caching friends while wishing for the return of summer.
We'll convene at 2:00 PM, hopefully that will allow those like us who are church goers or those who may have to work (yuck) time to get here, and the event will last until 3:00, or until people are ready to head out.
A couple notes: 1). Anyone unfamiliar with Norm's Ice Cream (Do you live under a rock or something? ;) is advised to order a size smaller than you think you want. 2). Due to it being their last day of operation for the year, some of the treats may be unavailable as they are finishing up their inventory for the season, so don't be too bummed if your favorite treat is out of stock. They have plenty of tasty goodies. In past years they have had everything still on the last day, but you never know. 3). I'm also told that when they run out, they close. If they don't run out, they stay open normal hours.
The first year when we did this event, it was 45 degrees with a stiff wind blowing and raining. The second year it was also cold and rainy, but less windy. Dress appropriately for mid-October! No matter the weather we're still meeting anyway! In the first edition of this event, Team Peterson did us the honor of calling our humble event their 10,000th find, I wonder if we'll reach anyone's milestone find number this time?
Hope to see everyone out here for some fun, good fellowship with caching friends, some scoops and a smiley! Maybe do an anti-rain dance so it doesn't rain again this year too!
