What Could Be Making that Sound?!?! Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

bw: As promised, this one is going to the archives. It was published to coincide with last year's "FTIC - March 2023" event (GCA3KB0) to add some fun to the event, and has been out for quite some time. Thus, time to retire this one so newer and more fun caches can be published by others. There are also plenty more letterboxes in the area now since last year when this one was published, which is nice! This ended up being a good hiding spot - I do not think I had to do maintenance even once on this one! :)

Anyway, thanks to the 43 cachers who took the time to find and log this cache - hope you had fun doing it! I attached some photos of the logs for recordkeeping.

RIP, GCA0CHG...to the archives with you!

Geocache Description:

Leaving last month's "First Thursdays in Columbia Event," I prepared to get in my car and drive home, when all of a sudden I heard a strange sound in the air. As I listened closer, I realized the sound was actually music. Feeling curious, I set off on foot and followed the melody south along Little Patuxent Parkway. As the melody got louder, I knew I was getting closer. I arrived at a pile of logs right off the sidewalk, where it became clear that this was the location from which the music was eminating. What could be making that sound?!?!

...well, I couldn't tell you. It was dark, and I was too chicken to check the pile of logs for the source of the song. So for now, it remains a mystery. But I am hoping some of the cachers out there may be a bit braver than I am, and help determine the source of this music.

Unfortunately, in my panic I forgot to jot down the coordinates of this source. However, in order to get there you can project a distance of 327 meters at a bearing of 184 degrees from the posted coordinates. I also managed to take a picture of the log pile. I took it right from the sidewalk, while facing eastward. And I drew a map of the walking route I took from the posted coordinates. Hopefully all this info can help you locate the source of this music!

D/T rating takes into consideration both the letterbox instructions and the hide. Before you seek the sound, I suggest you bring your own pen. This should go witout saying, but PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE STAMP OR INK PAD!

As always: Don't be that guy! Please leave the cache, stamp, and ink pad as good as or better than you found them.
