ここは佐賀県ではなく長崎県の道の駅です。
よく佐賀県と間違われますが、鷹島は全島が長崎県松浦市に属する島です。
元寇終焉の地としても有名で、島に取り残された元寇の残党10万人を掃討する鷹島掃討戦が行われました。
その結果、元寇は捕虜2～3万人を出して壊滅しました。
島には当時の凄惨な戦いを物語る数多くの地名が伝えられています。
道の駅鷹ら島ではマグロの解体ショーも行われており、新鮮なマグロを買う事も出来ます。
This is a roadside station in Nagasaki prefecture, not Saga prefecture.
Takashima is often mistaken for Saga Prefecture, but the entire island belongs to Matsuura City, Nagasaki Prefecture.
It is also famous as the site of the end of the Genko, and the Takashima Mopping-up Battle was held to wipe out the 100,000 remnants of the Genko who were left behind on the island.
As a result, Genko was destroyed with 20,000 to 30,000 prisoners of war. There are many place names on the island that tell of the horrific battles of those days.
At the roadside station Takarashima, a tuna cutting show is held and you can buy fresh tuna on the spot.
