Geocache Description:

This is a small white container hidden in a beautiful valley conservation area in a unique valley area with lots of trails.

Note: Mother Nature has been doing quite a bit of remodelling since we first placed this cache. The cache was originally on the west bank of Wascana Creek - but since then the creek has carved a new path, cutting off the cache from the West Bank. The cache is still at the same coordinates, but is now on an island which is best accessed from the east bank. The stump that the original cache was located in has been ravaged a number of years by beavers, but then sends out new growth shoots each spring. The original container finally succumbed sometime in the fall of 2019 - and has now been replace with a sturdier ammo container, new log book and replenished contents. Ready for another decade. B&E, Happy Together You should have little difficulty reaching the cache area as the cache is only a few meters off to the side of one of the many trails in this area. You may have to do a little bit of searching to find the actual cache as it is hidden from plain view. There is an easily accessible parking lot at N50 33.333 W104 50.772 and lots of trails that lead down into the conservation area. The cache is several hundred meters east of the parking lot and 30+ meters below the level of both the parking lot and the surrounding prairie wheat fields. It's a bit of a hike from the parking lot down to the valley floor, but there are many well marked trails. This is a great spot to visit in any season - a popular tobogganing spot in the winter with several marked ski/hiking/biking trails on both sides of the Wascana creek. The cache is a white four inch diameter plastic jar about six inches tall containing a log book and geocaching information sheet as well as a number of items - pony tail holder, magnets, supergirl, Winnipeg pin and a piano - as well as the Crabby Cabbie travel bug. The day we were here was overcast and a skiff of snow on the ground -- and with thousands of geese and sand-hill cranes flying overhead in huge V formations. Hope you enjoy this unique area and take time to explore some of the trails. Note - several have noted that the coordinates were a bit off so I have updated the latitude to W 104° 50.257 from W 104° 50.245.
